  • Drop and Poach Drill
  • 2vs1 with the one side player starting the point with a feed from the kitchen line to team at the baseline. Player receiving the ball hits a drop and attempts to set up their partner to poach the next ball.
  • As the poaching player, focus on the movement and timing of your move up and across the court.
  • Dropping player should switch to cover the open court when poaching player takes the next ball.
  • Player at the kitchen line should practice more and less conservative shots off of the received drop.
  • Switch up the directions the dropping player starts the point from—forehand/backhand side, cross court/down the line.

Pro Tips

BEN JOHNS

My favorite strategy drill is the Backhand Volley Attack from the Ad Court because it such an effective shot. Practice this and you will win more points!

COLLIN JOHNS

My favorite drill is the Dink Reset Drill because it is so important to work on staying patient and ressetting yourself.

DEKEL BAR

I love to drive the ball so the Drive and Drop Drill is a key component of my game.
