- Primarily used for neutralizing or defense.
- Contact the ball immediately after it hits the ground.
- Minimal backswing. Contact out in front as much as possible.
- Paddle face open with a forward or slightly upward swing to create the lift needed on a ball struck from just above the ground.
- Short follow through.
- Bend knees. Stay low through the shot.
- Move your feet to put yourself directly behind the ball so you can push forward through the shot with your body weight.
- Hold paddle stable by locking your wrist.
